Whether or not you buy into the hype around the "great resignation", it's clear that many people are getting a lot less tolerant of old school tyrannical leadership styles, unfulfilling roles and a lack of autonomy.
There are enough examples of sane, constructive and inspirational leadership to prove that people like Steve Jobs succeeded in spite of their emotional immaturity and appalling behavior, not because of it.
At the same time however, humble leadership is a crock.
Leaders need to lead.
That means taking tough, unpopular decisions and calling people out when they aren't performing, as well as inspiring and empowering them.
It's really not that complicated.
