Selective control.

Successful change is about choosing the right levers.

Life is rarely black and white. And people rarely achieve their success in exactly the same way.

Selective control means focusing attention and action on the things that will generate the biggest results in specific parts of your life.

But it’s also about taking action in areas that you may have previously ignored, or considered too difficult or even impossible to influence. Perhaps most importantly, selective control also involves treating more aspects of your work and life as creative challenges rather than ‘managerial’ tasks. The latter tends to promote adequate but safe changes. The former empowers you to take risks and drive real innovation.

Moreover, selecting what not to do at the right time is sometimes the smartest move you can make.
